Shamad is a traditional hand made summer throw used in Asian Arid and Subtropical regions. Orginiated in Centeral Iran (Persian Province of Yazd). Its history goes back to 800 years.
Traditional Shamad is made of Cotton and Silk. Modern versions are made of high quality Viscose. Shamad is a vesatile throw. It is used as a cover during a hot summer day`s nap indoor and outdoor. Due to its yarn and open weave it has unique characteristics. It always air circulation, keeps cool, does not absorb heat, and keeps the mosquitos away.
